SAFETY MEASURES
CHECK-UP OF CHANNEL AT SYDNEY HEADS TRAFFIC NOW NORMAL [U.P.A-By Electric Telegraph-Copyrighti (Received sth December, 10.40 a.m.) CANBERRA. 4th December. The Minister for the Navy, Mr Hughes, stated in Canberra to-night that as a safety measure the Naval Board had deemed it necessary to have a check.up of the channel at Sydney Heads, which had involved sailings being prohibited. Mr Hughes said that this was a temporary measure and normal traffic was now proceeding.
