The Daily Express” says that the •Lancashire cotton industry is again short of operatives at a critical moment. as a result of which the Government’s order for 100.000.000 yards of cotton goods will not be fulfilled within the stipulated six months. Many of the operatives have drifted to the munitions industry because of higher wages, and they will remain there unless they are assured of comparable wages and reasonable security in their own industry. ‘ .
