BLAST IN EXPLOSIVES FACTOR
MAX KILLED AT MARIBYRNOXG [U.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-CoDyrtght) MELBOURNE, 3rd December. One man was killed and five injured in an explosion in the pyrotechnic ;ection of the Commonwealth explosives factory at Maribyrnong to-day. An official statement about the accident says an inquiry has been opened and until it is completed work in the section where the explosion occurred has been suspended. The section manufactures and fills flares, rockets and similar devices. The dead man is R. F. Jensen, aged 25, single. The only person seriously hurt was J. Ward, aged 16, who received severe burns to the face and arms. The others injured escaped with minor burns.
