MEN DISCHARGED FROM CAMP UNFIT
QUESTION OF PENSION l From Our Own Parhamentarv Ker*orlerJ WELLINGTON, This Day. I “What steps are being taken to enj sure that men discharged as unfit from camp because of disability incurred durj ing training are* warned to apply for a pension during any period of disability I or necessary convalescence?” asked Mr J. A. Lee (Democratic Labour, Grey Lynn) in a notice of question in the House yesterday to the Minister of DeIfence (Mr Jones). Mr Lee said that a young man discharged with a serious, though not necessai’ily permanent injury. informed him of his return to work after medical examination, no one warning him of his right to claim a pension. “There is a grave risk of his immediate return to work turning a temporary disability into a permanent weakness.” added Mr Lee.
