WEEK-END BIVOUAC
NELSON NATIONAL RESERVE INSPECTION BY MAJOR-GENERAL RUSSELL Tne 15th Company of the National Reu.rve, Nelson, held a bivouac on the Richmond Showground last weekend when the training instruction included advanced field exercises. In the course ol' a tour of inspection of National Reserve units in the South Island. Major-General Sir Andrew Russell. Inspector-General of New Zealand , Military Forces, visited the camp on j Sunday afternoon. The company paraded and following the general salute. : Sir Andrew inspected the company and j requested that they perform a ceremonial march past. After briefly addressing the company j the Major-General watched the men | carrying out training exercises, includ- \ ing bayonet practice. The Major-Gen-eral was accompanied by Major A. McCormack, Nelson Area Staff Officer, and other staff officers.
