PAMPHLETS DISTRIBUTED
ACTIVITIES OF ILLEGAL ORGANISATION [United Press Association] NEW PLYMOUTH 17th November. Pamphlets published by the Watch Tower, Bible and Tract Society, which, with Jehovah’s Witnesses, was recently declared an illegal organisation, were distributed at Hawera on Saturday night. A man who was arrested and detained will appear in Court to-morrow. A resident who found a pamphlet when he returned home observed a man enter several properties. He advised the police and, after a short search, a man was accosted and taken to the police station. A large number of pamphlets and other material associated with the activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses were later removed from a car standing in the street.
