APPLEBY W.D.F.U. j During the month the W.D.F.U. gardening circle at Appleby held an enjoyable meeting in the home of Mrs , Hollis, a large number of members being present. There was a good deal of business to be discussed. Mrs P Challics was chosen as judge for the j flower competition during the coming year. Mrs Challics then gave an inter- ! esting talk on the grafting of roses and ■ different shrubs After the usual cup of ! tea. it was decided to hold the next meeting in Mrs P. Challies* beautiful I garden on 20th November.
