Both teams were at full strength, ana iltnough the score was decisive in favour of Murchison, the game wait not by any means ont-sided. Longford kept up the pace right to the end, and it was chiefly the way in which Murchison took quick advantage of openings that gave them their win. Murchison kicked off. and for most Df the first half the game was very even, and without much incident. First points to Murchison came from a free kick against Longford for offside play. Long was successful with a good kick taken well out. I Even play again followed for a time, ] until Canton secured from a scrum in midfield and sent a good kick across the j field. Davie took the ball nicely and after beating several men, scored a good try Long’s kick at goal failed. Longford now set up a determined attack, and took play to the Murchison line. A five-yard scrum was ordered Longford hooking the ball and pushing the Murchison pack towards the line. The ball came out to Canton, the Murchison half-back, who sent it out to Henderson, and he relieved the position with a good kick to the line.
