FLIGHTS DENIED
! NO VIOLATION OF AMERICAN NEUTRALITY i [U.P A.-Bj Electric Telegraph—Copyrighti WASHINGTON, 27th January. The United States and British officials of the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation to-day denied that bombers have been flown over American soil or across the ocean. All asserted that American neutrality is being strictly observed. A New York message published on Saturday stated: The "HeraldTribune” gives prominence to a report from its Washington correspondent that Lockheed bombers, purchased by Britain and manned by French crews, are flying over American soil en route to Botwood (Newfoundland), whence they are flown across the Atlantic to the Western Front. The method involves violation of American neutrality, but it is being winked at.
