FIXING NATURE
For ’Aruona.” a large crew of workmen and Director Wesley Ruggles went ahead of the company to Tuscon to prepare the desert set. Mr Ruggles, it seems, is a stickler for perfection and the details of the preparations provided many a chuckle to natives who didn’t know Hollywood ways. Arrived at the spot where the scene was to be readied, Ruggles went into action. “I feel cramped. ’ he said at once. “Kindly move those two trees” Then he designated a spot to the right of him. “Order three trees to be transplanted here at once. We’ll move that creek—l still feel cramped. I'd rather have it on this side. We'll install a tank for anothe crock right here— make a note of it!”
