ODDFELLOWSHIP
The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Nelson Lodge, No. 3615, M.U.1.0.0.F.. was presided over by the Noble Grand, Sister J. Neilson. There was a good attendance of officers and members and the following officers occupied their respective chairs: 1.P.N.G., Bro. R. Simpson: V.G., Bro. R. S. Coleman; Guardian, Bro. W. H. Prebble; Warden. Bro. J. Sharland; E. Sec., Bro. H. Banks; F. Sec., Bro. M. L. Anderson. The Surgeon's report was presented and all claims for sick pay were passed for
j payment. Mention was made of the great loss suffered by the Lodge m the passing of Bro. C. Leapcr, memj hers standing in silence as a mark of : respect. One new brother was ballotted for and proving favourable the canI didate was presented to the officers of j the lodge by the conductor Bro. F. L < Armstrong, assisted by Bro. E. J. Curry, j At the conclusion of the initiation cerc- | mony the newly-elected brother w«# 1 accorded the honours of the Order, the Lecture Master, Bro. C. E. Hammond, leading the lodge. The N.G. extended a welcome to visiting members of other lodges. It was resolved to extend invitation* to members of all the Nelson Friendly | Societies to attend a Flag 500 evening on 26tH July. Members of the bowl* i team were reminded of the game of , bowls set down for 6th July with Rech- | abite Lodge. ' P.G. Bro. Sharp, of the Loyal Dukn !of Cambridge Lodge, paid a visit to the lodge and was accorded a hearty welcome. Bros. A. Bovey. and Sharp suitably returned thanks for the welcome extended to them. Lodge was then closed by the N.G. at 8 p.m., when members of the Loyal Welcome Rebckah Lodge were entertained at bowls, a very pleasant evening being spent. During the evening the social committee dispensed a welcome supper.
