FALL OF SNOW ON RANGES
NELSON’S WEATHER TO-DAY Cold and changeable weather was forecast to-day, with occasional showers and snow on the hills; moderate to strong winds between south-east and south-west, with gales in exposed positions. The ranges over the Eay presented a fine sight -this morning with a mantle of snow reaching right down to the foothills. The Takaka Hill had six inches of snow on it this morning; while to the east of the city the Maungatapu had a light coating. For the 24 hours to 9 o’clock this morning the rainfall in Nelson w&s .12 in., making a total for the month to 1.27 ana for the year to date, 13.70 in. There was a frost of 1.7 degrees in the city this morning, but in the country the minimum temperature on grass was 38.1 deg. Yesterday’s bright sunshine amounted to shrs 35min.
To-day in Nelson the sun shone at intervals.
