The turnover has for long been so small that a number of stock exchange firms are discussing amalgamation. Giltedged stocks reacted on the failure of tb i London County Council loan. The Aus. tialian loan ig now at- over 60s discount. German bonds were sharply marked down, and Chinese are also easier, though Japanese are more resistant. Sugar alone moved up in the stagnant commodity mar.
