FAREWELL PARTIES AT BRIGHTWATER

MISS BETTY PEARLERS Miss Betty Pearless, of Brightwater. is leaving Nelson for Blenheim to-day to take up a nursing career at the Wairau Hospital and during the past few days she has been the guest of honour at several farewell parties given by variousf organisations with which she has been associated. Mrs J. W. Bloyce gave an evening party at which Canon Bloyce presented her with a travelling rug from the choir and Sunday School teachers of St. Paul’s church. The Brightwater Girl Guides, of which she was captain, and their parents, last Saturday gave her a very enjoyable afternoon and presented her with a week-end case and two beautifully framed Medici prints. The presentation of a writing companion was made on the following Sunday by Canon Bloyce on behalf of the Sunday School children.
