TROOP MOVEMENTS

DANZIG-GERMAN FRONTIER NAZI PRESSURE INCREASING OMINOUS INCIDENTS IN FREE CITY ID.P A.—By Electric Telegraph - ('-opvright (Received Ist July, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, 30th June. Evidonce that Germany will shortly call up further reservists coincides with increased pressure on the Danzig-German frontier where the control has already been tripled, states the Paris correspondent of the British United Press. j Six regiments of infantry arrived in Carlsruhe last night. Thirtythousand troops from Essen have been installed on the Saar frontier posts, and 32,000 motorised troops have reached the Rhineland in the past two days. Observers report considerable troop movements in j Kchl, Lastatt, Salzbach, Trier and I Eifel. The authoritative Danzig journal “Vorposten” states: “We are convinced there will soon be a demonstration showing how little Britain and France are willing to support the Polish arro-, gance.” It urges the population to strengthen themselves in anticipation of the hour of decision, stating “It is absolutely certain that this decision will be taken. The Fuhrer will set the date.” It adds: “Calm and strength will be particularly necessary in the next few weeks.” An official report issued in Warsaw states: “It is no longer able to be doubted that despite Danzig’s denials, a Free Corps is organising in Danzig, for which barracks have been requisitioned, quantities of frozen meat stored and tailors regimented for uniformmaking.” The report's outspokenness surprised Polish political quarters, which interpreted it as meaning that Poland will not passively watch the infiltration of East Prussian Nazis into Danzig. HITLER WILL NOT GO TO WAR USE OF OTHER METHODS LONDON, 30th June. A high German Government official told the Berlin correspondent of the British United Press that “Germany will not go to war against half the world for Danzig, which is already completely Nazi. Hitler will again show his ingenuity in solving this problem without war.”
