KNOCKING OFF THE PENNIES

AN AMUSING GAME FOR A WET AFTERNOON Borrow Mother’s clothes basket and broom and two old kitchen chairs. Put the handle of the broom through the handles of the basket and support each end on one of the chairs. A penny is placed on the seat of each chair. The idea is for each one in turn to get in the basket and sit on the broom handle, and while balancing there, knock the pennies off the chairs with a walking stick without falling out of the basket. Place some cushions on the floor underneath so that if you fall out you won’t hurt yourself. Just try it. Tell Mother that the broom won’t break, and that even she and Daddy can try it!
