“FAST AND LOOSE”

“Fast and Loose." Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s comedy, is a successor to "Fast Company.” Heading a strong cast as Mr and Mrs Joel Sloane. are Robert Montgomery and Rosalind Russell. Also included in the cast are Reginald Owen, Ralph Morgan. Etienne Girardot. Alan Dinehart. Jo Ann Sayers and Joan Marsh. The exploits of Robert Montgomery as Joan Sloane., a dealer in rare books and sometime amateur detective. and his charming wife Rosalind Russell, provide the action for ‘‘Fast and Loose.” The picture is splendid entertainment from start to finish, and is a brilliant exception to the rule that a talking picture cannot be repeated in precisely the same terms. It is the second picture of the same kind with these players, and is also in similar vein to previous "Thin Man” productions featuring William Powell and Myrna Loy. The story is concerned with the disappearance from the home of a wealthy collector of a priceless manuscript, followed by the murder of the collector and one or two other people who are about to clear up the mystery. The real murderer is cleverly hidden right to the last moment, and this without drawing any too conspicuous red herrings across the trail. Mr and Mrs Sloane trip through the story as an engaging couple with a wealth of brilliant and amusing dialogue.
