The council of the New Zealand Bowling Association decided at the concluding session of its annual meeting yesterday to invite to Lite centennial tournament in Wellington next January teams representing the Australian Bowling Council, tbe Canadian Lawn Bowlig Association, and any other overseas association which might besire to be represented. Mr A. E. Whitten (Auckland) said the incoming executive should consider the danger of unofficial parties on tour taking pi credence over official teams, lie recommended that contact should be made with all associations affiliated with the International Bowling Board with the object of safeguarding the rights of official teams. It was decided that from Ist January 1940, all bowls must bear the 1934 official test stamp or a later one. Centres are to be notified that bowls ; submitted by selling agents for testing ' may be stamped irrespective of whether j the discs have been engraved. It was stated that the engraving of discs after testing had no prejudicial effect on the draw of bowls.
