FLAG 500 EVENING AND DANCE "EVENING MAIL” SOCIAL CLCB An enjoyable flag 500 evening and dance was held by the “Evening Mail” Social Club in the Mia Mia Tearooms last evening when over eighty guests were present. Mr and Mrs Austin and Mr and Mrs McChesney won the flag 500 competition with 19 points and the consolation prize went to Mr and Mrs t . Jarrett. Miss Frank and Mr N. B. Wilkes. A guessing competition, for which the prizes were flights over the city, was ; won by Miss Z. Ruffell and Mr W. Sexton. Mr H. Fryer and Mrs Mayers won 1 the Monte Carlo prize and the lucky spot dance was won by Mr Baldwin ind Miss I. Ward. Mrs K. G. Lucas 1 presented the prizes. MOUTERE W.D.F.U. MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Moutere branch of the W.D.F.U. was held at the residence of Mrs H. Beuke in Neudorf. After the meeting had opened with • the Creed, Mrs Higgins was welcomed as a new member. 1 Delegates to the Provincial Executive gave an account of the meeting held :n Nelson and a list of remits from the conference was put before the members. Mrs Beuke proposed that a donation be sent to the executive towards • the travelling expenses. 1 The competition was an article made from one yard of material, and was won by Mrs Johnston, Mrs Coleman being 1 second. In tthe junior section, Miss C. Teece was first. A delicious supper was served and ’ Mrs Franklin (president) thanked Mrs ' Beuke for the use of her room. The July meeting will be held in the Braeburn Hall.
