Boxing At gisborni; GISBORNE, 28th June. The Canadian Johnny Foster beat Jack Davis on points in a welterweight boxing contest over 10 rounds. Foster shaded his opponent in the majority of rounds and narrowly missed a knockout in the seventh. Davis made d remarkable recovery and was carrying the tight to the Canadian when the bout concluded. Foster seemed hesitant when a quick victory seemed within his reach The bout was witnessed by the largest crowd for ,two seasons.
