ANOTHER ARMY PURGE
I GERMAN HIGH COMMAND HITLER'S REPLY TO CRITICS LONDON, Bth June. Herr Hitler is reported to have again purged the German High Command, following its renewed opposition to a foreign policy that might involve war on two fronts. A number of army officers had severely criticised the occupation of Bohemia. The “Yorkshire Post” says that Herr Hitler has dismissed 30 high officers of the Reichswchr. They include General T.oeb. who was largely responsible for the military organisation of industry under the four-year plan. General Stuolpnagel. one of the chiefs of the Air Force. General Quade. commandant of the Air Force College. General Liebmann, commandant of the War Academy, and General Geycr, commandant of the Fifth Army Corps. The political leaders have thus had another victorious tussle with the soldiers, as was the case when General Fritsch and others were dismissed before the invasion of Austria.
