In the U.S. national open golf championship Byron Nelson got a birdie four on the eighteenth to tie with Craig Wood with a score of sixty-eight. They will meet again to-morrow. Denny Shute was eliminated by a seventy-six. Wood's second shot at the final hole, which he started leading by a stroke, struck a spectator on the head, knocking him unconscious and unnerving Wood.
