NEW ZEALAND ART EXHIBITION
PICTURES HUNG BY TWO NELSONIANS At the autumn exhibition of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts held in Wellington, two Nelsonians, Miss Marjorie Naylor and Miss Enga Washbourn hung a number of picture.:. A commentary published in ‘‘The Dominion” stated: ‘‘Enga Washbourn gains in strength. Of the pictures shown by her, ‘Storm—Patarau. West Coast, stands out. This painting has the tang of the sea wind in it. and the nikaus in the foreground are ~et down with a splendid precision. “A sketch well worthy of inspection is ‘Snow on Takaka Hill, Nelson.’ in which the artist, Miss Marjorie Naylor has captured cleverly the light on the snow.”
