EARL BALWINS FEARS RETURNING TO ENGLAND NEW YORK. Ist May. “I am just an old man out of a job,” said Earl Baldwin, former British Prime Minister, before he sailed for England on Saturday. War in Europe, he said, was not certain, but the issue lay in the hands of Herr Hitler, and nobody could say what he might do.
Lord Baldwin said he felt the need to hasten back to England “in these anxious times.”
