LADIES’ FOURSOMES (Untied Pres* Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The first round of the New Zealand ladies’ foursomes golf was played on the Hutt course this morning. The fairways were dry and parched and the greens deceptive owing to the run and the difficulty of remaining on them. Results:— Mrs Lightband and Miss McGuire beat Miss Campbell and Mrs Hatrick 4 and 3: Mesdames Creswell and Brooks beat Mesdames Williams and Whitehead 3 and 2; Mesdames Cook and Wilson beat Mesdames Hamilton and Marsden (» and 4: Mrs Hall-Jones and Miss McCallum beat Misses Collins and Horwell 2 and 1; Mesdames Park and WcltonHogg beat Mesdames Hobson and Carter 3 and 2: Mesdames Sadd and Wells beat Miss Batham and Mrs Murray 3 and 2; Mesdames Ashe and Norman beat Mesdames Pacey and Green 7 and 5; Mesdames Johnston and Chapman beat Mesdames Wilson and Wade 6 and 4.
