A warm welcome was extended to these visitors and also to mem- i bers of the Loyal Nelson Lodge who ! were present. Bro. Walker suitably re-j I plied. j Bro. W. Anderson gave a brief description of the trips to Mount Arthur and to Lake Rotoiti when members from ; the West Coast and Wellington were taken for a picnic party by the members of the Loyal Howard and Loyal Nelson Lodges. About 80 made the trip to the Lake and also went for launch trips on the lakes. The day was perfect, and all agreed that the scenery round about Nelson was equal !to or better than anything they had seen elsewhere. Bro. M. L. Anderson explained all about the circular received from Wellington regarding the Social Security Act as affecting Friendly Societies. A reminder was given members of ■ the Past Grands Lodge of the quarterly meeting to be held on Thursday, 27th ‘ April. The captain of the bowls committee also reminded all interested in ‘ the bowls, that next Wednesday, 19th 1 is the first match of the season for the Freeman Shield. After supper. Lodge was closed and members played bowls ; and cards. The dance held by the Social Committee on Saturday night was a very successful and enjoyable function. Bro. C.
