IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS BELIEVED TO BE PENDING (Received 17th April. 10.45 a.m ) NEW YORK. 16th April The United States' Pacific fleet, at present in the Atlantic, has been ordered to return to the Pacific and begin refuelling. Thousands of officers' and ratings’ shore leave has been cancelled. A total of 140 vessels will be ready to leave in 36 hours while 56 will remain in the Atlantic.
