RICHMOND BOROUGH COUNCIL Water Reticulation Loan T>UBLIC NOTICE is hereby given 4 pursuant to Section 10 of the Local Bodies Loans Act. 1926, that the Richmond Borough Council proposes to raise a Special Loan of Five thousand pounds (£5000) for the purpose of extending the existing water supply reticulation within the Borough. As security for repayment of the loan and payment of interest thereon it is proposed to make and levy a Special Rate (annually recurring) of seventeen-sixty-fourths (17-64ths) of a penny in the pound on the Capital Value of the whole of the rateable property within the Borough of Richmond. Provision for repayment of the loan will be made by establishing a sinking fund, calculated on the amount raised of not less than two pounds (£2) per cent, per annum. The rate of interest on the loan shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate exceeding 3$ per cent, per annum. The term of the loan shall be a period of 30 years. It is not proposed to pay out of the loan the interest or sinking fund payments for the first year, but it is proposed to pa yout of the loan any costs in raising the said amount. In addition to borrowing the abovementioned sum, and as a condition to proceeding with the proposal, if carried, it is proposed to enter into arrangement with the Nelson City Council for a supply of 200,000 (two hundred thousand) gallons of water per day from the Roding River Water Supply Scheme for which annual charges will be payable estimated to amount to £447. Also to enter in arrangement with the Waimea County Council for a half-share in the cost of a reservoir at Poorman’s Valley and a main pipe-line to the Richmond Borough Boundary for which annual charges will be payable estimated to amount to £309 per annum.
