NGATIMOTI WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

ANNUAL MEETING Following so closely on the Easter holidays there was only a small attendance of members present at the ninth annual meeting of the NgatimotJ Women’s Institute held at Mrs Stevens home. Mrs S. I. Llewellin presided and after reading the Aspiration thanked the members for their support and help during her term of office. The report on the year’s work showed that good progress had been made and the balance sheet satisfactory credit. Donations had been made to the Cripple Children’s Fund, Chinese Orphans’ Fund, and the Motueka Safe Bathing Society. It was decided to hold the monthly meetings at the homes of members for a time and to discontinue the table competitions.

Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—President, Mrs S. I. Llewellin (re-elected); vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Stevens, Stratford, and Mitchell; secretary, Mrs Burrell (re-elected).

A dainty afternoon tea and social brought a pleasant afternoon to a close.

The first prize for a nut loaf went to Mrs Mitchell and for a thrift bouquet to Mrs Burrell.
