A RECIPE FOR TO-DAY
Tomato Paste Three ripe tomatoes, 1 egg, 2 oz. grated cheese, 2oz breadcrumbs, £oz butter or margarine, 1 small onion (chopped finely), salt and pepper. Peel and cut up tomatoes, put in pan with the butter and onion and heat gently, stirring to form a smooth mixture. When tender add the egg, stir quickly until
the mixture thickens; then renew from heat and add the cheese ad}, Inetly, the crumbs. Mix to a smooth paste and put in pots, covering with oiled butter to keep the paste fresh.
