“The Mail's WONDERLAND PAGE

A Letter from Alice

Dear Boys and Girls, “Judging by the pile of happy letters I've received this week, Easter must have been a very lovely time for atl the Wonderland members,” typed Alice carefully. Just then she felt a tug at her sleeve, and there was White Rabbit, looking somewhat pale and limp. “Tell them / had a very good Easter, too ” he whispered in a faint voice. Alice looked at hint severely. “If they could only see you at this moment. White Rabbit,” she scolded. “They would think Taster hadn't agreed with you at all.” He shook his head dolefully. “As a matter of fact, it didn't. But I’m a lot belter than / was.” “Well, Tm very glad to see you about again,” Alice told him, “but I hope you’ll know better next time.” Ever so many boys and girls wrote to Alice this week to ask if White Rabbit had a happy Easter, and did he get any Easter eggs? He had a very wonderful time indeed, as it happened, visiting a large number of his relations in the country, and they all exchanged Easter eggs, which were made of cabbages and lettuces stuffed with green peas and carrots. Seed / say more? Poor White Rabbit! He went to bed and dreamed that all his white waistcoats had been painted with bright stripes, and even now he’s looking carefully at the one he is wearing, to make sure it's the proper colour. Do you know . Blue Peter came to Alice the other day, and said, “/ wish you would have a Sea Page, Alice, with stories of adventure on the high seas, and sea poems by famous writers like John M use field and Rudyard Kipling and Henry Newbolt.” “That is a very good idea,” nodded Alice, already seeing that Page in her mind, with lots of stories and poems by Wonderland members, too. She could even imagine Mr Printer man saying graciously, “Yes, you may have extra space for the Sea Page by all means.” Alice has a very good imagination, hoys and girls. Sopposing we have our Sea Page on Saturday, 13th May? That will give us all plenty of time to write our stories and poems. Perhaps some of you would like to describe a trip you have made by sea. We will have some competitions, of course, and tfuese will be announced next week, so be sure to look for them, as Alice and Blue Peter want every member of the Wonderland Club to enter this time, and we’ll make our Sea Page the very best we've ever had. Shall we? Cheerio for now, hoys and girls. As many little me tubers are sick just now. Alice would like to send them a very special “cheerio,” and a big wish that they will all soon he better. Your friend, ALICE.
