WOMEN’S CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE UNION
The monthly meeting of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held in Burrough House on Tuesday 11th April, but owing to the Easter holidays and so many members being out of town, the at- (
tendance was only small. The president opened with devotions, taking two of the convention items, the address at the Sunday service, by Rev. F. Fans, and the ta(k on first Corinthians, third chapter, hy Mi.4b E. McLay. After repeating the pledge, the temperance fact was read by one member lrum the leaflet "Facts to think about, alcohol a poison.” It was decided to
irrange Tor the holding of the Bth year certificate day next month. Short talks i the Dominion Convention were given by the two delegates, but tbe full rcMention was made of the special “prayer foi peace” day to be held in May, and of the fund being raised for holding the Dominion Convention in Nelson, in 1941. 1
