FOREIGN TROOPS IN SPAIN
QUESTION OF WITHDRAWAL DEPENDENT ON EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT (Received 14th April, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, 13th April. The Spanish Ambassador in Paris. Senor le Queries, in a statement to the Press to-day, said that a return to normal relations between France and Spain depended on the loyal, complete and rapid execution of the agreement signed by General Jordana, General Franco’s Foreign Minister, and Senator Berard, French envoy to Burgos, for the return of Spanish gold and ships. MOORS GOING HOME LONDON, 13th April. The Hendaye correspondent of “The Times” says it is reported from Madrid that all the Moors, totalling 50,000, are going to Morocco next week and the militia is being disbanded. NO EFFECT ON STOCK EXCHANGE (Received 14th April, 12.20 p.m.) LONDON. 13th April. Mr Chamberlain’s statement had prr. ’tically no effect on the Stock Exchange, and markets closed quietly. Gilt-edgeds are easier, German Dawes and Young Loans are better, and industrials are neglected but steady.
