Mr Horatio Everett of Umukuri. celebrated his 80th birthday yesterday, when he received the hearty congratulations of many relatives and friend* throughout the district. Mr Everett is a member of the Motueka Harbour Board and a riding member on the Waimea County Council. Mr Leon Pitt, previously of Nelson, has been transferred to the Treasury Department, karotonga. He leave* from Auckland next Tuesday. The Waimea County Council at today's meeting passed a motion of sympathy to Mr H. Coltman, District Health Inspector, in the death of hi* son. Mr A. Coltman. in an accident thia i morning.
