MORE EASTER WEDDINGS

BROOKS—LEE A wedding of interest to many friends in Nelson, Auckland, and Wellington, took place on Easter Saturday, when Mollie, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs J. S. Lee, Kawai street, Nelson, was married to Vivian Norman, son of J 1 r and Mrs Brooks, Devonport, Auckland.

The Rev. James Hay conducted the service at the Trinity Presbyterian Church. Nelson, which was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride. Mr Lee escorted his daughter down the aisle, and she looked very sweet in a gown of cream brocaded slipper satin with Medici collar and rucked bodice. The skirt, which was cut on Grecian lines, fell gracefully into a long train at the back, the front being fashioned with side fullness caught into a flared panel, which was finished at the waist with a cluster of pearls. The beautiful veil, held in place with sprays of orange blossom, was worn over the face and fell in folds in the back, forming a second train. She carried a lovely shower bouquet of cream begonias and gladioli.

The bride was attended by three bridesmaids, the Misses Marion Falloon and Ngaio Smaill, both of Wairarapa, and Miss Dorothy Bunt, New Plymouth, who looked charming dressed alike in Victorian growns of pastel green striped georgette over foundations of deeper green taffetta, with very full skirts. They carried shower bouquets in clover and cyclamen shades which matched their hair sprays. Mr Laurie Pollock, of Wellington, acted as best man, and the bride’s brother, Mr Bruce Lee, Nelson, and Mr Bruce Robertson, Blenheim, carried out the duties of groomsmen. The reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, “Whare Ora.” Kawai street, where Mrs Lee received her guests wearing a gown of sapphire blue velvet with toque to match. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and gladioli. Mrs Brooks, mother of the bridegroom, who assisted in receiving the guests, wore a gown of navy blue georgette, relieved with touches of white, with a smart model hat to tone, and carried a shower bouquet of red begonias.

When Mr and Mrs V. N. Brooks left later by ’plane for their honeymoon, which is to be spent touring the North Island, the bride travelled in a model suit of storm blue, with navy accessories, and carried a musquash coat, the gift of the bridegroom. Their future home will be in Wellington. Many guests came from other parts of New Zealand to attend the wedding, among them being Mrs V. N. Brooks and Miss Beth Brooks (Auckland), Mr and Mrs James Wilson, Mr L. Brooks and Mr H. Ashby (Wellington), Mr and Mrs J. S. Lee, jun. (Picton), Mr and Mrs Douglas, and Mrs A. Robertson (Blenheim), and Mr and Mrs Holland (Bell Grove).
