BOWLING
MAITAI CLUB MEETING OF COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the Maitai Bowling Club was held last evening, the vice-president Mr W. Herbert being in the chair. The Nelson club advised that it was proposed to send a team to Takaka on Saturday, 18th March and invited players from the Maitai Club to make the trip. It was decided that two rinks be selected from players who are willing to join the party. The question of holding an electric light tournament on Wednesday evening was considered and the proposal was agreed to, but later on, after an inspection of the green, which was found to be covered with heavy dew, it was unanimously decided that the holding of further evening tournaments would be impracticable. As there are several matches to bo played in the Tilyard Cup competition it .was resolved that the third round be completed on or before 18tli March. The present condition of the green, and the proposals for its treatment during the close season were considered at length and it was finally decided to request the green committee to call a special general meeting to enable all members to become acquainted with the proposals and to give them an opportunity to make suggestions. It. was decided that the final match for the Kitchingman Cup be played al Richmond on Saturday next.
