Wilton, Hawera, lost the cheque and most of the cash, and Mr W. P. Allen, Hawera, the balance. They were staying with Mr Patterson sen., in Gilbert Street. Access to the house was apparently gained through a. bedroom window. The money was lelT in two handbags.
