TOWN TEAM MAKES 245 J. CASKIE BATS WELL Wakatu commenced their second round fixture against Waimea at Stoke on Saturday and at the end of play the game was in an open position. Winning the toss Wakatu batted and Kinzett and Glover put on 57 runs before Kinzett was dismissed by L. Max for a bright 39. Glover who had been badly dropped by Joyce in the slips off L. Max before reachinb double figures reached 55, when he was clean bowled by Joyce. J. Caskie who had been out of the game for some time before joining up with the Wakatu Club, added another good batting performance to his credit by scoring a bright 83. F. Johnston batted steadily for 28 runs and the innings closed with the total of 245. In the half hour left for play Waimea scored 39 runs for 1 wicket. Details:— WAKATU First Innings C.
