DRESSES FOR COMING COURTS

The “Daily Mail.” says that among the first duties of Their Majesties after their return from Sandringham next week will be to approve four designs of model dresses for the coming Courts. About 30 drawings are being submitted and will be scrutinised by the King and Queen jointly, the King approving the final choice. After this the designs will be sent to London and Paris dressmakers. It is understood that last year a number of dresses with an over low neckjline aroused official displeasure. Unofficial instructions have already been given that greater attention must be paid to major details, such as the length of the train and the neckline, while low-backed Court gowns are specially restricted. Designers welcome the restrictions, but admit that clients have their own views.
