Commenting on the statement of the Prime Minister of Australia, Mr J. A. Lyons, in reference to the international situation, Mr Curtin, Leader of the Federal Opposition, said the Commonwealth Parliament should be called together immediately, adding that the
only construction that could be put on Mr Lyons’s statement was that for the first time in history Australia was confronted by a hazard of actual aggression against her soil and against the lives of her people.
