GERMAN TROOPS

CONCENTRATION IN AUSTRIA ALARM ON THE FRONTIER "MARCH ON PRAGUE" fU.l'.A.—By Electric Telegraph— Copyriglitl LONDON, 26th January. The "Daily Herald" says that heavy concentrations of German troops in various parts of Austria are causing alarm on the frontier. Farms have been evacuated and patrols have taken up strategical positions.

It is reported from Vienna that all Germans of military age have been forbidden to leave the country. It is felt in some quarters that Ibis may be the prelude to a "march on Prague” in order to impress on the Czechs the urgency of Closer co-ordination with the German political system.

The Berlin correspondent of the “News Chronicle” asks, “Is Germany preparing for inflation?” and that, after Dr. Schacht’s dismissal, the Reichsbank printed currency notes valued at £330.000.000 without backing. The purpose of this is uncertain.
