JUDGEMENT FOR DEFENDANT
VEHICLE INSPECTOR PROSE. CUTED I United Press Association! CARTERTON, 26th January. In the Magistrates’ Court, Greytown, J E. Oliver, farmer, Papawai, proceeded against P. Calcinar, chief vehicle inspector of the Transport Department, claiming £134 5s damages arising from a collision with a truck on the Greytown highway in August last. Plaintiff’s truck, proceeding out of a private road on to the main road was struck by defendant’s car. Plaintiff alleged negligence on the part of defendant, who claimed that plaintiff was negligent through not keeping a good lookout.
After two hours of conflicting evidence judgment was given for defendant with costs.
