TIIE SECOND SALE TOTAL OF £393.418 I United Press Association! WELLINGTON. 26th January. The wool cheque for the second Wellington sale of this season held on 9th January, totalled £393.418. as compared with £404.536 for the corresponding sale of last year and £746.007 for that of January. 1937. At the January sale last year 28.377 bales were offered, of which 24.709 bales were sold, the net weight of the wool sold being 8.989.6601 b. The total gross proceeds were C 404.536. the average price a bale being Cl 6 7s 5d and the average price a lb.. 10.8 d At the 1 January sale in 1937. a total of 30.724 • bales was offered, of which 30.699 bales were sold and 25 bales passed in The ; total gross proceeds were £746.007. an I average of £24 6s a bale, or 16.313 d a \b. The two sales held in Wellington so] ; far this season have realised a total I ;of £724.941. compared with 11688.463! i for the December-January sales of i i last season. £1.396.670 for those of | 1936-37. £725 501 for 1935-36 and £33.601 for 1934-35.
