FRANCE’S EMPIRE
CANNOT BE DIVIDED, SHARED OR ABANDONED (Received 2flth January, 9 a.m.) PARIS. 25th January. The Colonial Committee to-day tabled a resolution proclaiming that all parts of the French Empire, whether continental or in overseas colonies or protectorates over which the French flag is flying, are placed under the safeguard of France’s sovereignty and cannot be divided, shared or abandoned.
