Mr C. E. Craig, the well-known Auckland trotting writer and racecourse announcer, and formerly of Westport and Murchison, arrived in Nelson this morning, and is the guest of Mr and Mrs Frank Gorrie, Collingwood street The visitor has made the trip to assist with the Nelson Trotting Club’s annual meeting. He has been a regular visitor to Richmond since the revival of the light harness sport in Nelson. Mr G. C. Wood, son of Mr and Mrs E. A. Wood, of Nelson, has joined the staff of the “New Zealand Herald’s” illustration department. Auckland. Messrs K and T. Sarnes, of Hursthouse street. Lower Moutere, are spending a holiday at Picton and the Sounds. Mr W. P Rowling, son of Mr and Mrs Bert Rowling. Umukuri. has received word of his appointment, under the Auckland Board, to the Waitekauri School. Thames, and will leave to-mor-row evening for the North Island. Mr Adrian Sparks, son of Mr and Mrs E. Sparks. Riwaka. has also been appointed by the Auckland Board to the Kerepehi School, Haurakl Plains.
