GROWTH IN BRITAIN EXPANSION OF VOLUNTEER RESERVE I British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 23rd January. The Air Council lias decided on the immediate expansion of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve by the formation of aircraft crew and ground sections. Recruitment for training in both the new sections will begin forthwith. More than 1380 members of the Guard now possess their “A” licenses and about 3550 of the enrolled members are being taught to fly. The rest are attending lectures on aviation and being given ground instruction. More than 60 aero clubs are participating in the scheme and approximately 330 aircraft are being used for instructional purposes.
