MOTOR ACCIDENT IN FRANCE IUI'A.—B.v Electric IVlemaph-Couvneht PARIS. 21st January. The Australian, Major R. Calvert Empson, who was covering the Monte Carlo motor rally for Allied Newspapers, with Mrs Kay Petrie, crashed into a lorry at the crossroads in Am-berien-en-Bugey and was killed instantly. Mrs Petrie was admitted to hospital in a serious condition. Mrs Petrie who was driving, will be charged with manslaughter.
