UNREST IN BURMA

ALLEGED RINGLEADERS ARRESTED RAID BY POLICE AND TROOPS IUPA.-Bv Electric Telegraph -Copy rich t’ (Received 24th January, 9 a.m.) RANGOON, 23rd January. Ten men, the alleged ringleaders of the Burmese seditionist movement, were arrested to-da.v when police and troops raided the Shwedagon Pagoda. The president of the Horne Rule Association was among those arrested. It is believed that this is the first time that such a raid was made during the British occupation of Burma. Students on strike to-day Issued a report to the Press ending: “Long live the revolution!” The students intend to prevent the legislators attending the forthcoming session.
