CUP TO LUCULLUS LAI) MORNING FLIGHT-SUCCESSFUL PALMERSTON N., 23rd January. With an increase in both totalisator and gate figures, the annual meeting of tie Ashhurst-Pohangina Racing Club today was the most successful for a number of years. A large crowd witnessed exciting racing, with many close finishes. The weather was fine, overcast and very warm, and the track in good order and fast. The totalisator handled £19,251, compared with £17.325 10s last year, an increase of £1925 10s. Gate takings increased £2O.
