A welcome to Motueka was extended by the Mayor <Mr ft. J. L. York) in the Salvation Army Hall to Captain G. N. Gooday (Hawera) and Lieutenant J. R. Ward (Miramar), successors to Captain and Mrs Lindsay, who have gone to Palmerston North. The Rev. P. Kirkham and Messrs E. Light and S. E. Hulbert spoke on behalf of the respective churches and items were contributed by the Band, under Bandmaster W. Anderson.
